What these terms cover.
These terms cover repairworth.com, its quote, budget and decision tools, and the developer tools listed on Data & sources, including the repairworth-mcp server. If you do not accept them, do not use the site or the tools.
Free, with no account.
The tools are free to use. There is no account, sign-up or payment. On the site, calculations run in your browser on the amounts you enter.
General information, not advice.
RepairWorth publishes general information and calculation aids. It is not mechanical, repair, legal, tax or financial advice, and it does not replace a qualified technician or a lawyer. RepairWorth does not inspect vehicles, rate shops or judge whether a price is correct or fair. A result depends on the amounts you enter. Published price observations and state law summaries are dated and can be out of date.
No warranty.
The site and the tools are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. RepairWorth makes no promise that a page, a figure or a result is complete, current or free of errors. You remain responsible for the decisions you make with a result: check them against the written quote, the shop and, for a legal question, the official text of the law.
Open data and code licenses.
The table “U.S. State Auto Repair Estimate Laws”, published as open data and in the developer tools, is released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0) (opens an external site): its compilation (selection, structure, summaries and annotations) may be reused with attribution to RepairWorth. The statutes and regulations themselves are government texts in the public domain.
The code of the repairworth-mcp (opens an external site) server and of the Go module github.com/repairworth/estimatelaws is released under the MIT License. The calculation engine bundled with repairworth-mcp is not: it may be installed and run, unmodified, as part of that package only. The license file of each package states the exact terms.
The other text, tools and design of this site are not released under these licenses. Quotations from third-party sources remain under their owners’ terms.
Tools used through an integration.
These terms also apply when a RepairWorth tool is used through an integration, such as the repairworth-mcp server in an MCP client. Four of its five tools run the calculation engine of this site on amounts the caller supplies; the fifth returns the row of one state or DC from the state law table. It holds no market price and does not say whether a quote is fair. The client or AI assistant that calls it is governed by its own provider’s terms.
